I learned the trade of broom making while working at the Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown, NY. Over the course of four years, I became deeply interested in finding the precise balance between form and function but found my expression somewhat limited by the museum’s guidelines in terms of historical accuracy and traditional presentation. Since leaving Cooperstown to run a bed and breakfast in Amagansett, I created a limited run of brooms utilizing found driftwood handles. What started as a curious side gig has grown into a daily practice. Stay tuned!
